Henry Cavill unveils FIRST LOOK of ‘Highlander’

Henry Cavill shares 'Highlander' FIRST LOOK; gives fans glimpse of reboot by 'John Wick' director Chad Stahelski

Henry Cavill has shared the official first looks at his character in the upcoming ‘Highlander’ reboot.Taking to his social media handle, the actor posted two drastically different images of himself in character. While one features him walking in a temple donning a trenchcoat, the other sees him wielding a sword in what appear to be a gothic church. As per reports, the photos were from the filming locations in Hong Kong and New York. “Happy First Look for Highlander!” the actor wrote alongside the images and added, “This has been quite the journey for me, which I’ll tell you all about when the time is right, but it’s a special moment to be able to share this. I hope you enjoy.”

Henry Cavill unveils ‘Highlander’ first look

The upcoming reboot marks Cavill’s return to a sword-wielding role, after his turn as Geralt of Rivia in the hit series ‘The Witcher’. After three successful seasons, the actor bowed out of the fantasy series in 2022, giving way to Liam Hemsworth to take on the role.

About the ‘Highlander’ reboot

Directed by Stahelski, ‘Highlander’ stars Cavill as Connor MacLeod, an immortal sword master who has lived for more than 500 years. A synopsis shared by scooper Daniel Richtman reads, “Centuries after his first death on a Scottish battlefield, immortal warrior Connor MacLeod lives quietly in the modern world, haunted by loss and the endless cycle of violence among his kind. When the ruthless immortal Kurgan resurfaces, backed by a secret organisation bent on unlocking the secret of eternal life, Connor is forced back into the Game – an ancient battle where ‘there can be only one.’Shortly after production began, Cavill’s leg injury reportedly delayed the film’s production to early 2026.

‘Highlander’ cast

The ‘Highlander’ films and TV series revolved around an age-old war between immortal warriors who can only be killed only if they are beheaded. The 1986 cult classic debut starred Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod, who is trained by Sean Connery’s Ramírez.The reboot also star WWE star Drew McIntyre, as Angus MacLeod, brother to Cavill’s MacLeod. Russell Crowe, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Dave Bautista, Marisa Abela, and Max Zhang also feature in the supporting cast. Go to Source
