'Border 2' box office collections Day 5: Sunny Deol starrer sees HUGE drop in numbers on Tuesday; earns just Rs 19.5 crore

The war drama ‘Border 2’, starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty in lead roles, has seen a considerable slowdown at the box office on its first Tuesday. The film that made the most of the extended Republic Day weekend witnessed a huge drop in collections on Day 5, which also happened to be its first regular day at the box office. Without the support of the holiday, the film collected just around Rs 19.5 crore, as per early estimates.These numbers were a steep decline from the film’s Republic Day bumper collection of Rs 59 crore. The film on Monday not only recorded its highest single-day collection, but also saw the film register itself in the record books as one of the highest Republic Day collections of all time.

‘Border 2’ week 1 collections

‘Border 2’ hit theatres in India on Friday, just in time for the extended holiday weekend. The movie began its box office run, earning an impressive Rs 30 crore. Over the three-day weekend, the film saw an upward graph at the ticket window, earning an estimated Rs 36.5 crore on Saturday, Rs 54 crore on Sunday and Rs 59 crore on Monday. With an estimated Rs 19.5 crore added to its collections, the film’s overall net collections stand at Rs 196.50 crore.

‘Border 2’ occupancy

Directed by Anurag Singh, the film recorded a drop in Hindi occupancy, scoring an estimated footfall of 24.82%, as compared to Monday’s overall 64.27% Hindi occupancy. While the film’s footfalls remained low during the day, it only picked up during the night shows, which registered 34.07% occupancy.

‘Border 2’ worldwide collections

With the final collections expected to rise, ‘Border 2’ could likely pass the Rs 200 crore net mark. Meanwhile, its gross total has hit an impressive Rs 235.7 crore. With an additional Rs 35 crore coming in from international markets, the film’s worldwide total now stands at an impressive Rs 270.7 crore. All eyes will now be on the box office to see if the film can maintain a steady graph and cross the Rs 300 crore mark at the worldwide box office. Go to Source
