Bomb scare: Delhi-Patna Tejas Rajdhani halted briefly; nothing suspicious found

Officials talking to ANI

The Tejas Rajdhani Express travelling from Delhi to Patna was halted for more than half an hour on Saturday night after authorities received a bomb threat. Railway officials said that no suspicious object was found. The alert was received from Delhi Control, prompting security agencies to stop the train and carry out extensive checks. “As soon as we received the information, our entire BDS (Bomb Disposal Squad) team, the local police, the Station House Officer, the civil authorities, our dog scouts, the BDS team, and the fire brigade officers, the divisional officers from here, checked the train… Nothing was found,” Commanding Officer RPF Aligarh Gulzar Singh told ANI. According to officials, the Bomb Disposal Squad, local police, station authorities, dog squads, civil administration officials and fire brigade personnel jointly inspected the train. After the search was completed, authorities confirmed the threat was a hoax. The train remained halted for around 31 minutes before being cleared to continue its journey. The incident comes weeks after a similar bomb threat targeting the Kashi Express, which was travelling from Gorakhpur to Mumbai. In that case, Mau Superintendent of Police Elamaran said no explosives or suspicious items were found following an investigation.
