Nivin Pauly got a big relief from a Kerala court. The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-I at Vaikom ordered that a criminal complaint be filed against producer PS Shamnas. The court found that Shamnas had lied to the court. Judge Archana K Babu said Shamnas had hidden facts and made wrong claims under oath. The court felt this was done only to get a cheating case registered against Nivin Pauly and director Abrid Shine.
Court calls it fraud
Reports from Bar and Bench website say that the court clearly stated Shamnas misled the court. It found that he gave false evidence on purpose. The judge said, “The giving of false evidence amounts to practicing of fraud upon the court … it was manifest that the respondent (Shamnas) had intentionally made a false statement or declaration when he was under a legal obligation to speak the truth in a judicial proceedings.” The court also said that, at first look, Shamnas committed fraud just to get an FIR registered against Nivin Pauly. This order came on January 12 and brought a big legal relief to the actor.
‘Sarvam Maya’ box office success
At the same time, Nivin Pauly is also smiling because of box office success. His latest film ‘Sarvam Maya’ is doing very well. The film has completed 22 days in theatres. Till now, it has collected around Rs 69.43 crore India net as reported by the Sacnilk website. The film is directed by Akhil Sathyan. On Day 21 the film earned around Rs 98 lakhs. On Day 22 it collected around Rs 1.2 crore as per rough numbers.
