On Wednesday, January 14, the ‘Drishyam 3’ release date was announced. Hours after the announcement, Tharun Moorthy shared a photo of a stretch of road with some indie dogs on his Instagram story and captioned it, “Find the place, feel the story.” The post was accompanied by the hashtag #L and ‘The Faceoff’ BGM from Mohanlal’s ‘Thudarum.’ Producer Ashiq Usman reshared the story and confirmed that their next film will start rolling on January 23, 2026!

Last month, the producer had confirmed that they are teaming up for a film. Ratheesh Ravi is scripting the film and Shaji Kumar has roped in as the cinematographer. “When a storyteller and a legend meet again, a universe stirs. Some online reports claim that the upcoming film will be shot in Thodupuzha, the same place where Mohanlal’s famous ‘Drishyam’ franchise is shot. If reports are to be believed, Mohanlal will be reuniting with actress Meera Jasmine, his frequent collaborator in the 2000s, for the upcoming film. Given that ‘Thudarum’ was one of the highest-grossing films in 2025, the excitement around the upcoming film is soaring. Meanwhile, Mohanal is currently awaiting the release of ‘Drishyam 3,’ directed by Jeethu Joseph. The film marks the third installment from the franchise.
