Å koda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd (SAVWIPL) closed calendar year 2025 with one of its strongest performances to date, supported by a recovery in the passenger vehicle market and rising demand across segments.

The Group reported its highest-ever domestic sales of 117,000 units in 2025, up about 36 per cent year on year. Total sales, including exports, stood at 159,500 units during the year. The performance also coincided with SAVWIPL crossing the 2 million Made-in-India vehicles milestone, underscoring the scale of its local manufacturing operations.

Piyush Arora, managing director and CEO, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, said the Group’s growth reflects consistent execution and the strength of its long-term India strategy. He added that the company will continue to expand its portfolio and network in 2026 while strengthening India’s role as a global manufacturing hub.

Growth across segments

The India-specific MQB-A0-IN platform continued to anchor the Group’s growth and now underpins all locally manufactured Škoda and Volkswagen models. Exports remained a key pillar, with cumulative overseas shipments crossing 715,000 units, further strengthening India’s position as a strategic global production base for the Group. During the year, SAVWIPL also expanded its international footprint by entering and exploring new markets in the GCC and ASEAN regions.

Brand-wise, Volkswagen maintained its leadership in the premium sedan segment, with the Virtus commanding a 38 per cent share year-to-date. The first batch of the Golf GTI sold out within days of launch. Å koda reported 107 per cent growth, driven by demand for the sub-four-metre Kylaq and the return of the Octavia RS. The Group also expanded its retail and service footprint to around 700 customer touchpoints across India.

In the premium and luxury segments, Audi introduced multiple new Signature editions, including the Q7, Q3, and Q5, as well as the RSQ8 Performance. Lamborghini launched the Temerario, while the Revuelto was named ‘Super Car of the Year’. Porsche expanded its network to 13 points of sale, and Bentley entered the SAVWIPL portfolio as the sixth brand, opening dealerships in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi.

SAVWIPL said it plans multiple product launches in 2026 to sustain momentum, deepen customer engagement and advance its sustainability agenda.
