BMW Group India on Thursday reported its highest-ever annual car sales in calendar year 2025, delivering 18,001 units, marking a 14 per cent year-on-year growth and outpacing the average growth rate of India’s luxury car segment.

BMW brand sales stood at 17,271 units, while MINI contributed 730 units during the year. The company also reported motorcycle sales of 5,841 units under its BMW Motorrad business. Fourth-quarter car sales reached a record 6,023 units, up 17 per cent year-on-year, making Q4 the strongest quarter on record for the group in India.

Hardeep Singh Brar, President and Chief Executive Officer, BMW Group India, said the company recorded growth across powertrains and segments, including internal combustion engine vehicles, EVs, sedans and SUVs.

During the year, BMW Group India launched 20 new products across BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad.

Electric vehicles continued to be a key growth driver, with BMW Group India delivering 3,753 BMW and MINI EVs in CY25, translating into a 200 per cent year-on-year increase. EVs accounted for 21 per cent of the company’s total car sales, up from 8 per cent a year earlier, reinforcing BMW’s position as the leading luxury EV brand in India.

Long wheelbase models recorded strong traction, with volumes rising 162 per cent year-on-year to 8,608 units. These models accounted for nearly 50 per cent of BMW car sales during the year, compared with 29 per cent in CY24, reflecting rising demand for chauffeur-driven luxury and rear-seat comfort.

Sports activity vehicles (SAVs) also saw healthy growth, with sales increasing 22 per cent year-on-year to 10,748 units. SAVs accounted for about 60 per cent of BMW Group India’s total car sales, led by the BMW X1 and BMW X5.

MINI India delivered 730 units in CY25, registering a 3 per cent growth over the previous year. The MINI Cooper S remained the brand’s highest-selling model, posting a 47 per cent year-on-year growth.

BMW Motorrad reported deliveries of 5,841 motorcycles during the year, led by the G 310 RR, which saw a 24 per cent increase in sales. The premium motorcycle portfolio also posted a 7 per cent year-on-year growth, supported by demand for models such as the S 1000 RR and GS range.

The company said it will continue to expand its retail footprint, with plans to add 19 outlets across 18 cities in 2026, taking its total touchpoints to 97 across 40 cities.
