Kia launches Syros EV from ₹13.49 lakh with up to 526 km range

Kia India on Thursday launched the Syros EV, its second made-in-India mass-market electric vehicle, at a starting price of ₹13.49 lakh (ex-showroom), offering a claimed driving range of up to 526 km along with an industry-first ownership package aimed at boosting EV adoption.

The Syros EV is available with 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery packs, priced between ₹13.49 lakh and ₹19.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Sales will commence from July 30.

Ownership-focused proposition

Kia is offering an assured buyback of up to 80 per cent after three years, a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option with ownership starting at ₹7.99 lakh along with a battery EMI of ₹3.3 per kilometre, and a 15-year lifetime high-voltage battery warranty for the first owner.

“Beyond an attractive price point, we’ve built one of the industry’s most confident ownership propositions with an assured buyback programme, Battery-as-a-Service and a lifetime battery warranty,” said Gwanggu Lee, Managing Director and CEO, Kia India.

Up to 526 km range

The extended-range variant delivers an ARAI-certified range of 526 km, while the 42 kWh version offers 443 km. Producing 171 PS, the SUV supports 100 kW DC fast charging, enabling 10-80 per cent charging in 39 minutes.

The Syros EV also gets Level 2 ADAS, a 30-inch panoramic display, connected car technology and access to Kia’s K-Charge network with over 20,300 charging points across India.
