Told roommates will return in 2 weeks: Indian student missing during solo trip to Alaska, mobile phone switched off

An Indian student from Andhra Pradesh, Hari Karasani, has been reported missing in the US during his solo trip to Alaska. The Alaska State Troopers issued a missing persons bulletin giving Karasani’s details and seeking information on whether anyone saw him. The police report said Hari Karasani was reported missing on January 3. He was last seen leaving the Aurora Denali Lodge in Healy on December 31, 2025.His family said they last spoke with him on December 30.His roommates in Houston, Texas said that he left for Alaska from Houston on December 22. He told them that he would return in two weeks by January 3 or 4. Like his family, they also spoke to him last on December 30, 2025. After December 31, Hari’s mobile phone remained switched off. The roommates initially thought it was probably because of the poor network in the Denali region. But reports claimed that there was a Lyft transaction on his credit card, which was later disputed. His friends raised concerns that the temperatures in the Denali region dropped to as low as 40 degrees Farenheight after December 31 and they have no information about his activity. They said Hari does not know how to drive, and there has no financial activity either.Recently, in a tragic turn of events, another Indian student who was reported missing for days in Maryland, was found dead in her ex-boyfriend’s flat. Arjun Sharma, the accused fled to India and was arrested there later but Nikitha’s father claimed that Sharma was never her boyfriend. Nikitha’s father claimed that Sharma was a former roommate who borrowed money from Nikitha. When Nikitha asked for the money, Sharma stabbed her to death and fled, Nikitha’s father claimed.
