While he was known to have one wife, six women have now come forward claiming to be his spouses, each seeking a share of the compensation.
The tragic incident occurred in Balajhar Chimta Paani village, in Chhattisgarh’s Pathalgaon forest range, claiming the life of Salik Ram Toppo. After his death, six women and their children came forward, each asserting they were his spouses and rightful heirs to the government compensation.
