Breaking: Delhi Pollution Crackdown Tightens Under GRAP-4, Even VIP Vehicles Fined as Smog Deepens

As air pollution in Delhi reaches severe levels, authorities have intensified enforcement under GRAP-4 norms, imposing strict restrictions on vehicles and issuing heavy fines. Non-BS6 vehicles from other states are barred from entering the capital, and violators face challans running into thousands of rupees. In a strong message, even a vehicle bearing an MLA sticker was fined during border checks, underlining that no one is exempt. Officials say penalties of up to ₹20,000 are being imposed to curb pollution. However, questions remain over whether strict rules alone can deliver relief without consistent implementation. Visuals from multiple areas including India Gate, Anand Vihar, RK Puram, and ITO show dense smog, reduced visibility, and worsening conditions across Delhi.
