Director and Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra is the latest celebrity to shell out the big bucks on a real estate deal. According to the latest reports, Chopra has become the new owner of a premium apartment in Mumbai’s Pali Hill neighbourhood.As reported by Money Control, the director allegedly purchased the apartment for an estimated Rs 7.75 crore. According to property registration documents accessed by CRE Matrix, the apartment is located in Bahar Apartment on Pali Mala Road in Bandra West, neighbouring Bandstand and Carter Road which is home to several leading film personalities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Rekha and Sanjay Dutt.The apartment boasts of a carpet area of 698 sq ft, with the sale officially registered on June 30, 2026. Property records show that Chopra paid Rs 46.50 lakh in stamp duty, along with a Rs 30,000 registration fee, to complete the transaction. The property was reportedly acquired from filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s production company – Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Pictures Private Limited.The report further adds that the apartment was purchased in 2007 for approximately Rs 1.20 crore. Vidhu Vinod Chopra was in the news for the success of his film ’12th Fail’. Over the course of his career, he has been associated with critically acclaimed films and is now rumoured to be working with Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani for the sequel of ‘3 Idiots’. The film, which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and R Madhavan, is rumoured to be in development and scheduled to begin around mid-2027 once the screenplay is finalised.
