The confrontation between the United States and Iran is unfolding not only through military strikes but also through an escalating war of words, particularly over control of the Strait of Hormuz. According to the report, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States would act as the protector of the strategic waterway, claiming America has full control over its security and suggesting a 20% fee for providing protection to shipping. Iran rejected that position, insisting that the Strait of Hormuz has always remained under its control and that it would impose only what it described as a reasonable toll. The report also says Trump issued a direct warning against Iran’s heavily fortified “Peak X Mountain” nuclear facility, describing it as a potential target despite its underground location within the Zagros mountain range. He reportedly warned that U.S. military operations against Iran could continue for two to three weeks rather than being limited to a short campaign. These statements reflect rising tensions alongside the ongoing military confrontation between the two countries.
