Strategic Move: Iran’s Two-Stage Plan on Strait of Hormuz

Iran is pursuing a two-stage strategy regarding the Strait of Hormuz. In the first stage, it aims to reopen the route to ease pressure from U.S. blockades and stabilize its economic situation. The second stage involves engaging in negotiations with the United States on complex issues like its nuclear program, which could help Iran move out of the current crisis. At the same time, large-scale protests continue in Tehran and other cities, where thousands support the government, military, and IRGC while opposing the U.S. and Israel. Despite threats, Iran remains firm, believing it has little left to lose after prolonged conflict and wanting to maintain its regional influence. Meanwhile, tensions in the Strait of Hormuz have driven global oil prices sharply higher, with crude reaching $108 per barrel, a rise of over 15% in a week, reflecting growing instability in the region.
