NEWS FLASH: Afghanistan Accuses Pakistan of Civilian Bombing After Cross-Border Airstrikes Claim

Pakistan has officially acknowledged conducting airstrikes inside Afghanistan, stating that seven militant camps linked to Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) were targeted in a coordinated operation. However, Afghanistan has strongly condemned the action. Taliban government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid alleged that Pakistani forces crossed into Afghan territory and carried out indiscriminate bombings on civilian areas. According to the Afghan statement, women and children were among those killed, with dozens reported dead. Kabul accused Islamabad of attempting to deflect attention from its internal security challenges by launching external strikes. Pakistan maintains that the operation was intelligence-based and aimed strictly at militant infrastructure responsible for cross-border attacks. Afghan authorities, on the other hand, insist the strikes violated sovereignty and targeted non-combatants. The sharp exchange of accusations threatens to further strain already fragile bilateral relations, raising fears of escalating tensions along the porous border region.
