Iran–US Conflict Intensifies: US Marine Power Explained as Iran Strikes UAE Targets

As tensions continue to rise in the Middle East conflict, experts are explaining how the United States could use its powerful Marine forces in the ongoing war. The United States Marine Corps is known for its ability to launch amphibious assaults, meaning attacks that begin from the sea and move onto land. Military analysts say US Marine troops are specially trained to land from warships and immediately begin combat operations on the ground. These forces can operate from large amphibious ships and can be deployed directly onto coastlines to capture strategic locations or support ground offensives. They can also assist in sea-based and aerial operations, working closely with naval and air forces. Amphibious warships allow Marine commandos to move close to enemy territory and land troops rapidly, making them capable of launching quick ground operations at any moment. These elite Marine commandos are considered among the most specialized combat forces of the US military. Meanwhile, the conflict is expanding across the region. Iran has reportedly launched missile attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates, causing heavy damage at the Port of Fujairah, one of the region’s key oil ports. Reports also indicate that explosions were heard in central Dubai, where a building was damaged during the attack. In another development, Iran reportedly targeted an American oil tanker near Sharjah, which lies close to Dubai. These attacks came shortly after US strikes on Kharg Island, an important Iranian oil export hub. Analysts believe the Iranian attacks on UAE locations and American facilities are part of a retaliatory response to those strikes.
