A controversy has emerged from Kushinagar district in Uttar Pradesh after a ceiling fan reportedly marked “Made in Pakistan” was discovered inside a madrasa during repair work. The incident has triggered political reactions and prompted an official inquiry by local authorities.According to preliminary information, the fan was installed in Madrasa Qadriya Haqeeqatul Uloom located in Jungle Vishunpur area. The matter came to light when the fan stopped functioning and was sent for repair. During the repair process, a technician allegedly opened the device and noticed the “Made in Pakistan” marking on its internal components. The discovery quickly drew attention, leading to police involvement. Officials from Vishunpur police station reportedly visited the madrasa to examine the premises and check whether any other suspicious or foreign-origin items were present. Authorities have stated that a routine verification of materials and equipment was conducted on site. The madrasa management has clarified that the fan was not newly purchased locally. As per their statement, the fan was originally brought from abroad by a young man who had traveled to Dubai. It was later given to his father, who subsequently donated it to the madrasa. The management also said that a local mechanic, identified as Shamsuddin, handled its installation and later repair work. Following the incident, members of a state-level commission reportedly sought action and further investigation into the matter. However, officials have not confirmed any unlawful activity so far, and the investigation is ongoing to verify the origin and import trail of the equipment. Authorities are continuing to examine how the fan reached the institution and whether there was any violation of regulations. The situation remains under review, with officials emphasizing that conclusions will be drawn only after a detailed probe.
