Tensions have escalated sharply in the Middle East as the United States and Iran continue to confront each other in the strategic waters of the Gulf of Oman and the Strait of Hormuz. According to reports, the US military has intensified its naval presence and is maintaining a blockade-like posture in the region. In a recent development, a Gambian-flagged cargo vessel heading toward an Iranian port was reportedly struck and destroyed by a missile attack, further raising regional tensions. In response, Iran has increased its military readiness, redeploying missile systems near the Strait of Hormuz and activating defense units capable of countering drone and aerial threats. Iranian military sources also claim greater operational autonomy for missile units without requiring prior high-command approval. Meanwhile, despite ongoing ceasefire claims, violence continues in the region as Israeli forces carried out heavy airstrikes in southern Lebanon, targeting areas near Nabatieh. Several casualties have been reported, and significant destruction has occurred. Lebanese authorities have condemned the strikes, calling them a deliberate escalation under the cover of ongoing regional conflict.
