Following the collapse of peace talks between the United States and Iran in Islamabad, Pakistani officials have rejected claims that the outcome is a setback for them. According to Pakistani representatives, their role as a mediator was successfully fulfilled by bringing both nations to the negotiating table and facilitating 21 hours of continuous dialogue. Officials emphasized that Pakistan cannot force either side to compromise, as both Washington and Tehran remained firm on their respective demands. The deadlock, particularly over the Strait of Hormuz and other key issues, ultimately led to the breakdown. Despite the failure, Pakistan remains optimistic, calling it a temporary deadlock rather than a complete collapse. It believes further diplomatic efforts involving countries like China, Turkey, and Russia may help resume talks. The situation remains critical, as continued tensions could impact global stability, oil supply, and regional peace, making future negotiations essential.
