Tensions in the Middle East have escalated after a drone attack targeted a nuclear power plant in the United Arab Emirates, raising concerns over the stability of the ongoing ceasefire in the region. According to the UAE Ministry of Defence, three drones were detected, out of which two were successfully intercepted and destroyed. The attack has triggered a fresh wave of concern about the possibility of renewed conflict in the region. Following the incident, the UAE has launched a detailed investigation into the drone strike. The International Atomic Energy Agency has also expressed serious concern over the security of nuclear facilities and the potential risks involved. In the aftermath of the attack, global oil markets reacted sharply, with crude oil prices rising by around 2% in a single day. Prices have crossed $111 per barrel, driven by fears of disrupted supply chains from the region. Experts also warn that the stock markets may open weak as energy prices continue to rise and geopolitical uncertainty increases.
