Breaking: Fresh Clashes Rock Kathmandu Near Parliament, 19 Dead, Streets Turn Into Warzone

Violence has once again erupted in New Baneshwor, a high-security area in Kathmandu that houses Nepal’s Parliament building. Protestors and security forces are locked in fierce street battles, with protestors hurling stones from rooftops and alleys, while police respond with rubber bullets, tear gas, and batons. The area witnessed one of the bloodiest clashes yesterday, with 19 protestors killed and over 500 injured, many of them critically.Today, police cordoned off the zone, but fresh stone-pelting led to immediate retaliation. ABP News ground report shows how police units chased protestors through narrow lanes, using shields and crowd-control gear to disperse the growing mob. The streets of Kathmandu have turned into a battleground between the angry youth and the embattled KP Sharma Oli government.Following immense pressure, two cabinet ministers have already resigned. The government, sensing unrest, has lifted the ban on social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, and X, but tensions remain sky-high. Protestors say the fight isn’t about social media—it’s about exposing corruption, authoritarianism, and injustice.Security remains tight across Kathmandu, especially near Singha Durbar, as fears of more violence loom. The key question: Will Oli resign, or will Nepal descend further into chaos?
