Violence has erupted across several parts of Bangladesh following the death of opposition leader Usman Hadi, triggering large-scale protests and unrest. Angry demonstrators vandalized and set fire to prominent media houses, including Prothom Alo and The Daily Star, accusing them of being pro-India and anti-government. Protests were also held outside the Indian High Commission in Dhaka, escalating diplomatic tensions. Reports indicate that minority communities, particularly Hindus, have been targeted amid the chaos. Hadi, a spokesperson of Inquilab Manch and a participant in the August 2024 student movement, died during treatment in Singapore. As security concerns grow, authorities have increased deployments, while India has expressed concern over the safety of its diplomatic missions and citizens in Bangladesh.
