Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that it will stop producing physical game discs for all new PlayStation titles starting January 2028. After that date, new games will only be available through the PlayStation Store or at retailers in digital formats. Games already released or launching before January 2028 in disc format will not be affected by this change.
