IND vs AUS: Virat Kohli’s Cryptic Message Sparks 2027 ODI World Cup Talk

As Team India gears up for ODI series against Australia, captaincy and retirement speculations have taken center stage – and Virat Kohli has added fuel to the discussion with a cryptic post on X (formerly Twitter).

The timing of the post has sparked conversations among fans and analysts, as it comes amid growing uncertainty over Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s future in ODIs, particularly regarding their participation in the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Both players have retired from T20 Internationals and Test cricket after recent victories – their ODI commitments have remained a topic of speculation.

Most formidable players in ODIs

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are two of India’s most prolific ODI batsmen. Kohli has played over 270 ODIs, scoring more than 12,800 runs at an impressive average of 58.1, including 43 centuries and 62 fifties.

Rohit Sharma, meanwhile, has appeared in over 250 ODIs, amassing 12,300+ runs at an average of 49.3, with 31 centuries and 57 fifties.

Both players have delivered match-winning performances across the globe, particularly in Australia, where Rohit has scored 1,328 runs in 30 matches and Kohli 1,327 runs in 29 matches. Together, they form one of cricket’s most formidable partnerships.
