Four years after their wedding, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal have shared the exciting news that they are expecting their first child. The 42-year-old actress happily flaunted her baby bump in the announcement post. Since then, social media has been filled with congratulatory messages for the couple. At the same time, discussions have started online about the “right age” for pregnancy, while some users are sharing reels and opinions about the so called “worst age” to have a baby.
Kaif’s pregnancy at 42 has left many happy, but some social media reels have sparked debate about having a child at this age. One of the posts highlights that pregnancies between 41 and 45 can be more challenging. As per the reel, “Celebrities make it look like easier but it is not. IVF is expensive, risky, and complications are at higher risk.” They also point out that women in their 30s are often told it’s the perfect time, but fertility starts declining. However, the age between 26 and 29 is considered the “sweet spot” for pregnancy, as fertility is stronger and many people are in a more stable phase of life.

What Doctors Say Is The Correct Age Of Pregnancy
A gynaecologist, Dr Shivani Shah, explained that the best age for a first pregnancy is before 30. After 30, the quality of a woman’s eggs starts to decline, which can make it harder to conceive and may increase the chances of complications, including the risk of the baby having conditions like Down syndrome. According to her, having a single pregnancy before 30 is considered safest for both the mother and the baby.
In the caption, Shah mentioned, “Doctors recommend having your first pregnancy before 30. After 30, egg quality declines, which not only reduces the chances of conception but also increases the risk of miscarriage and genetic issues like Down syndrome. Early planning ensures a healthier pregnancy and baby.”

Other Medical Conditions That People May Not Like To Reveal:
Talking openly about infertility can be difficult, especially for celebrities who can face negativity quickly. However, stars who share their experiences inspire others. For women over 40, consulting a fertility specialist is important when they decide to try for a baby, as fertility drops more quickly at this age.
Signs that a woman may have trouble conceiving include irregular or missed periods, severe or constant lower abdominal pain, unusual bleeding and sudden changes in weight, acne or unexpected hair growth on the face or body.
So When’s Actually The ‘Right Time’ To Get Pregnant?
The question of the “right time” to get pregnant doesn’t have a proper answer. While biology and fertility are often discussed, what truly matters is when you and your partner feel ready, emotionally, mentally and financially. Couples who communicate openly about their fears and responsibilities often find the journey smoother.
As per ETV Bharat, Clinical psychologist Syamoli Desai explains that “The idea of perfect age is outdated. Motherhood should be a personal decision and one should not take under any pressure. There’s a right age biologically but if you take proper care of yourself, you can conceive at the later age.”
At the end, the perfect time is when both partners feel confident in taking this step together.
