Actor Vijay Deverakonda shared a reassuring update with his fans after being involved in a road accident on Monday, October 6. The actor said that although his car took a hit, he is “fine.” The incident occurred on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru Highway in Telangana’s Jogulamba Gadwal district when his Lexus LM350h was struck from behind.
The collision reportedly caused damage to the rear of his vehicle. Vijay was travelling from Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, to Hyderabad when the accident took place. According to reports, the other vehicle involved in the crash continued on its way without stopping. A police complaint has been filed by the actor’s driver, and an investigation into the hit-and-run case is currently underway.

Soon after reports of the incident surfaced, the Liger star took to X (formerly Twitter) to update fans about his condition.
He wrote, “All is well. Car took a hit, but we are all fine. Went and did a strength workout as well and just got back home. My head hurts but nothing a biryani and sleep will not fix. So biggest hugs and my love to all of you. Don’t let the news stress you.”

The post brought relief to his fans and followers, many of whom had been concerned about his safety. However, some social media users cautioned the actor to prioritise proper medical care rather than resuming workouts so soon after the accident.

Among the many responses to Vijay’s post, one particular comment stood out for its health-conscious message. The user advised the Arjun Reddy actor to exercise caution and undergo a medical check-up. They further elaborated on the steps one should take if experiencing head pain after an accident.
“1. CT scan is done (only if the patient complains about headache or head hurting) to check if you have developed clots in the brain.
2. Look for signs like concussion & treat them (most commonly diagnosed and also presents with a headache – so don’t panic and always think you have a brain clot).
3. Avoid stressful activity and give yourself some rest. So, a workout is a big NO. And also, you are going to make your concussion worse if you have one.
4. Biryani & sleep will help as they give your body food and rest.
5. Please spread awareness about not doing a workout after an accident. It’s not about how tough you are, but how careful you are about your health.
6. Go see a doctor now if your head hurts. It can be nothing or something. Never take a chance when it comes to the head.”

Vijay Deverakonda Was Returning From Puttaparthi
A day before the accident, Vijay had travelled to Puttaparthi with his family, where he visited the Sri Sathya Sai Baba Prasanthi Nilayam Ashram. His spiritual visit came after reports surfaced about his private engagement ceremony with actor Rashmika Mandanna on October 3. The event is said to have been an intimate affair attended only by their close circle.
During the temple visit, fans also noticed a ring on Vijay’s finger, which only added fuel to the ongoing buzz around his relationship with Rashmika. Although neither of them has officially addressed the engagement rumours, several reports have claimed that the couple may be planning to get married in February 2026.
