Whether it’s about sensitive subjects like egg freezing, the evolving dynamics of her marriage or managing a demanding work-life balance, she continues to inspire women with her candid approach to life. During a heartfelt conversation with content creator Masoom Minawala Mehta, Upasana revealed the importance of maintaining regular date nights with her husband. She said: “My mom used to tell us that you have to have a date night once a week. You don’t understand its importance, but it’s so important. We try to do that as much as possible.”

For Upasana, the concept of date night doesn’t always mean lavish dinners or outings. She clarified, “It’s at home, but with no other distraction. No phones, no TV. Just checking in on each other. If we have a problem with each other, we definitely talk about it. Communication is something that we are still building, and we will continue to build till we die.”

This simple yet powerful practice, she explained, strengthens the couple’s bond and keeps their relationship grounded amid busy lives.

Expert Opinion on the Weekly Date Night Rule

Backing Upasana’s perspective, psychiatrists emphasise the psychological benefits of regular date nights. According to The Indian Express, Dr. Sonal Anand, psychiatrist at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, highlighted: “This rule emphasises the importance of regular date nights for couples. It suggests setting aside one evening each week to spend quality time together without any distractions of modern-day living.”

According to Dr. Anand, such intentional practices help create healthier marriages, provided both partners are equally committed and willing to invest the time.

How Regular Date Nights Strengthen Relationships

Relationship experts believe that weekly date nights are not just a luxury but a necessity for couples who want to nurture long-term love and understanding. Here are a few ways they contribute:

Strengthens Emotional Connection: Date nights give couples the opportunity to reconnect emotionally and share experiences that deepen their bond.

Improves Communication: With distractions eliminated, partners can have open, meaningful conversations that build understanding.

Reignites Romance: Consistently making time for each other helps keep the spark alive and strengthens intimacy.

Builds Resilience: Couples who invest in regular quality time are better equipped to handle conflicts and challenges.

Creates Beautiful Memories: Fun, simple dates create shared memories that enrich the relationship and bring joy over the years.

The Love Story of Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela

Upasana and Ram Charan’s love story has always fascinated fans. Both of them were schoolmates, but life took them in different directions, and they lost touch for years. A decade later, they reconnected, first as friends and eventually as life partners. Their brief courtship blossomed into a serious relationship, and the couple got engaged in December 2011.

The pair tied the knot in a grand yet intimate wedding in Hyderabad in June 2012, attended by family, friends, and film industry elites. Eleven years later, in June 2023, the couple welcomed their daughter Klin Kaara, marking a new and joyous chapter in their lives.
