Virgin Atlantic unveils revamped Heathrow Clubhouse with focus on wellness and premium experience

Virgin Atlantic has revealed the first phase of its refurbished Clubhouse at Heathrow Airport, introducing a redesigned lounge experience aimed at enhancing comfort, wellbeing, and productivity for Upper Class travellers.

The updated Clubhouse features new spaces including a cinema, dedicated work pods, a VIP Royal Box area, and a reimagined Gallery, combining modern design with functional upgrades. The airline has positioned the redesign as part of its broader strategy to elevate the premium ground experience.

A key addition is the introduction of wellness-focused offerings. The lounge now includes Somadomes, self-guided immersive meditation pods designed to deliver relaxation through light therapy, sound, and guided meditation. Complementing this is a partnership with Secret Spa, offering on-demand treatments such as massages, facials, and grooming services, available for a limited period.

The Royal Box, an invitation-only VIP area, offers a private lounge setting with runway views and curated in-lounge experiences. Designed as a premium retreat, the space reflects Virgin Atlantic’s brand identity with a focus on exclusivity and personalised service.

For business travellers, the Clubhouse now includes studio-style work pods inspired by Virgin Records’ heritage, equipped with integrated power, dedicated desk setups, and privacy features. These spaces aim to support productivity while maintaining a distinctive design aesthetic.

The Gallery area has been redesigned to maximise runway views and accommodate a wider range of travellers, including individuals, groups, and business passengers. The space incorporates British design elements, curated artwork, and improved seating configurations, alongside practical features such as integrated charging points and storage.

The cinema space has also been upgraded into a more immersive environment, featuring enhanced acoustics, improved seating, and personal entertainment options including Bluetooth connectivity.

Juha Jaervinen, Chief Customer Officer, Virgin Atlantic, said, “The Clubhouse is an iconic part of the Virgin Atlantic experience, and we’re proud to be unveiling a bold new chapter at Heathrow. This investment reflects our commitment to continually innovating for our customers, combining wellbeing, entertainment and distinctive design in a way only Virgin Atlantic can. From our Royal Box to our new wellness partnerships, we’ve reimagined the pre-flight experience to deliver something truly memorable.”

The refurbishment marks the first phase of a broader upgrade plan, with additional enhancements, including new outdoor and experiential elements, expected to follow.
