Jumpin Heights launches India’s first Cut Cord Bungy in Rishikesh

Jumpin Heights has expanded its portfolio of extreme adventure activities in Rishikesh with the launch of India’s first Cut Cord Bungy and the Running Valley Rope Jump. Both experiences are located in the Mohanchatti valley, a destination already known for adventure sports, and are designed to attract thrill-seekers from India and abroad.

The Cut Cord Bungy offers a seated jump experience from 270 feet above the Hall River, a tributary of the Ganga. Participants are suspended while holding a single cord, which is cut by the jump master to initiate the descent. The company has incorporated multiple safety mechanisms and trained personnel to manage the experience in line with international standards.

The Running Valley Rope Jump is a new variation of the Giant Swing, featuring a sprint start from Rishikesh’s yellow bridge into the valley. The design combines a running take-off with panoramic Himalayan views, aiming to deliver a high-adrenaline experience for participants.

Niharika Nigam, Managing Director of Jumpin Heights, said: “We’ve taken over a decade to add a new experience because it had to be bigger and wilder than anything we’ve done before – and that’s not easy to do. These launches mark a bold new chapter for Jumpin Heights, with newer experiences that continue to challenge the limits of adventure.”

Since 2010, Jumpin Heights has operated in Rishikesh, known as one of India’s leading destinations for adventure tourism. The addition of these activities is expected to boost inbound and domestic tourism in Uttarakhand, contributing to the state’s economy and reinforcing Rishikesh’s position as a hub for extreme sports.

The location, about 45 minutes from Lakshman Jhula, combines Himalayan landscapes with established safety practices. By introducing these new offerings, Jumpin Heights seeks to appeal to international travellers seeking unique experiences while enhancing India’s reputation in the global adventure tourism sector.
