Few know that before making her Bollywood debut in Dabangg (2010), Sonakshi Sinha weighed around 95 kilos. Through sheer discipline and determination, she managed to lose nearly 30 kilos, inspiring millions with her incredible transformation. In a candid 2018 conversation with Vogue India, the actor opened up about her workout routine and diet secrets that helped her not only lose weight but also maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Her Workout Routine

Recommended Stories

Sonakshi revealed that she kickstarts most mornings with a cardio session on an empty stomach. Her go-to routine includes 30 minutes on the Stairmaster, followed by 20–25 minutes of brisk walking. She also swears by Pilates, which she began practicing a few years ago. “There are thousands of exercises that you can do on those machines so it’s never boring; you can do something new every day… I love working out on the Pilates reformer,” she said. Pilates, she noted, has improved her flexibility, core strength, and overall endurance.

Her Diet Habits

When it comes to food, Sonakshi follows a protein-rich plan. While she avoids fried foods and sugar, she admits to indulging in pizza once in a while as her favorite cheat meal. “I’ve stopped eating bread completely unless it’s in the form of a pizza. I usually finish my carb intake by lunch, and for dinner it’s mainly protein,” she shared. For snacks, she prefers wholesome options like almonds, walnuts, or bananas.

Fitness Tips Inspired by Sonakshi

Start your day with a light cardio session to boost metabolism.

Find a workout you enjoy (like Pilates) to stay consistent.

Balance carbs and protein intake—keep heavier carbs earlier in the day.

Keep healthy snacks handy to avoid junk food cravings.

Allow yourself occasional cheat meals to stay motivated.

Sonakshi’s journey proves that with consistency, mindful eating, and smart fitness choices, long-term transformation is achievable.
