The most auspicious time to perform Karwa Chauth Puja falls during the Pradosh Kaal, which is after sunset and before moonrise. In 2025, the puja muhurat is scheduled from 5:57 PM to 7:11 PM, offering women a window of 1 hour and 14 minutes to conduct the rituals and offer prayers to Karwa Mata.

The Karva Chauth fast is broken only after sighting the moon and performing the traditional Arghya (offering water and prayers to the moon god). According to the Drik Panchang, the moonrise is expected at 8:13 PM this year, marking the end of the fast. As per tradition, women break their fast after their husband offers them water and the first bite of food.

The day begins early, with the fast starting at 6:19 AM, making the total fasting duration approximately 13 hours and 54 minutes. Throughout the day, women engage in prayers, adorn themselves in festive attire, apply mehndi (henna), and come together to perform puja rituals.
