Ganpati Visarjan Dos And Don’ts: Ganesh Chaturthi, one of India’s most cherished festivals, began on August 27, this year. The celebrations last ten days, concluding on September 6 with Ganesh Visarjan, also called Anant Chaturdashi. On this day, devotees bid farewell to Lord Ganesha by immersing his idol in water, either at large public water bodies or at home, following traditional rituals.
For many families, the Visarjan is a time of devotion, celebration, and gratitude. While some follow family traditions and perform Visarjan on the third, fifth, or seventh day, most do it on the final day of the festival. The rituals help devotees express thanks to Lord Ganesha for the blessings received during the festival.
