Festive days are full of joy, laughter, and endless celebrations but they’re also long, bustling, and often packed with back-to-back events. In such a setting, heavy glam can feel overwhelming, while makeup that’s too light may not last the entire day. The sweet spot lies in soft, subtle makeup looks that keep you glowing yet comfortable, ensuring you stay fresh through every ritual, dance, and dinner. We spoke to three creators Leisha Patidar, Himadri Patel, and Sonia Garg who shared their go-to routines for festive-ready makeup that strikes the perfect balance between elegance and endurance.

The Glow Getter Approach

Recommended Stories

For Leisha Patidar, festive glam is all about softness with a touch of radiance. “I start with a skin tint for that natural, even base and lock it in with baking powder,” she says. To keep her look fresh yet sculpted, she warms up her face with bronzer and adds a pop of blush. For the eyes, she leans into subtle browns paired with smudged brown eyeliner, a trick that gives a sultry effect without looking too heavy. Lips, however, are her favorite step: “I line them, apply lipstick, and always top it with gloss for that festive shine.” A quick spritz of setting spray, and her glow is celebration-ready.

Simple Steps, Stunning Results

Himadri Patel believes in keeping things effortless but impactful with a simple, step-by-step routine. She recommends beginning with a lightweight BB cream for even coverage, followed by a concealer that’s a shade lighter to brighten under-eyes and hide blemishes. A peachy or pink blush adds just the right touch of festivity, while eyes are kept striking with waterproof kajal on the waterline, smudged softly on the lids, and finished with volumizing mascara. Lips can swing either way “a nude or bold lipstick that matches your outfit’s vibe,” she notes. For the finishing touch, Himadri loves adding a bindi and kala tikka, infusing a traditional edge into her soft glam.

Fresh and Long-Lasting Minimalism

For Sonia Garg, the priority is longevity without compromising on subtlety. “Festive days can be hectic, so I always lean towards soft, subtle makeup that lasts,” she explains. Her trick begins with a hydrating primer to ensure the base doesn’t dry out during long hours. She then applies a lightweight, long-wear foundation or a BB cream, complemented with cream blushes and highlighters that give a natural glow while resisting fading. To keep things minimal yet functional, Sonia swears by waterproof mascara and tinted lip balms or transfer-proof lipsticks, choices that withstand endless conversations, food, and dancing without needing constant touch-ups.

Subtle but Strong

While their approaches differ, what unites all three creators is the philosophy that festive makeup doesn’t have to mean layers of product. A good base, a pop of blush, waterproof eye essentials, and a touch of lip color are enough to create a look that is soft, radiant, and built to last. Whether you lean towards Leisha’s glossy glow, Himadri’s traditional touches, or Sonia’s minimalist endurance, these routines ensure you’ll stay picture-perfect through the festive hustle.
