No one brings more imagination and sophistication to the red carpet than Cate Blanchett. The Oscar-winning actor, environmental advocate, and fashion icon commanded attention at the 77th Emmy Awards, arriving in a striking midnight-black jumpsuit that epitomized modern glamour. Designed by Armani Privé for its Fall/Winter 2025 Couture collection, the ensemble featured a daring plunge that extended to her midriff, accentuated by sheer, crystal-studded panels tracing the neckline.

Balancing its sensuality with sharp tailoring, the jumpsuit carried structured shoulders, crisp white cuffs, and fluid, elongated trousers—a refined nod to power dressing. Playful details, however, softened the look: triangular waist cutouts and a delicate bow cinching the silhouette at the center. Blanchett completed the ensemble with a pair of mismatched silver-and-emerald earrings, adding a subtle touch of whimsy.

The actress, nominated this evening for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her performance in Apple TV+’s Disclaimer, has long been celebrated for her singular approach to fashion. Known for championing sustainability, she frequently reimagines pieces from her wardrobe and gravitates toward materials that are both innovative and environmentally conscious.

Just weeks earlier at the Venice Film Festival, Blanchett dazzled in an avant-garde creation from Maison Margiela’s Fall 2025 Couture collection—Glenn Martens’ much-anticipated debut for the house. The design paid homage to avian forms, pairing a sleek recycled polyester bodice with a dramatic skirt of cascading feathers. Later that month, she appeared again in Venice wearing a black Armani Privé gown she first unveiled at the 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards, proving her commitment to thoughtful rewearing on the world’s most-watched stages.

As Blanchett told Business of Fashion in 2023: “It should be completely unremarkable, the idea of re-wearing clothes, because we do it in our daily lives—out of habit, out of choice, out of necessity.”
