West Bengal Phase 2 Voting LIVE: NIA Team Reaches Bhangar After Bomb Recovery Probe Intensifies

West Bengal Phase 2 Voting has taken a serious security turn after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) reached the Bhangar area in South 24 Parganas to investigate reports related to recovered crude bombs. The development comes amid heightened vigilance in sensitive constituencies where incidents of violence and explosive recovery have been reported in the past. According to officials, the NIA team has been deployed to examine the circumstances surrounding the recovery of explosive materials in the region. Bhangar has previously witnessed tense electoral conditions and is considered a sensitive zone due to its history of political clashes and security concerns. The constituency gained political attention after the previous election, where candidate Naushad Siddique secured victory from the region. The area has since remained under close observation by security agencies due to recurring incidents linked to law and order challenges. Authorities have intensified monitoring across South 24 Parganas and adjoining districts as voting progresses in Phase 2. Central security forces have been deployed in large numbers to ensure peaceful polling, particularly in areas flagged as sensitive. The presence of the NIA highlights the seriousness with which security agencies are treating reports of explosive materials ahead of or during the voting process. Investigations are currently underway, and further details are expected once the on-ground assessment is completed. Despite these developments, voter turnout across West Bengal remains active, with citizens continuing to participate in large numbers. Election officials have reiterated that maintaining peace and ensuring safe voting remains the top priority.
