Severe storms and heavy rainfall have caused widespread destruction across Uttar Pradesh, with the death toll rising to 111 as powerful winds, collapsing structures, and falling trees created deadly conditions in several districts. Dozens of people have also been injured as extreme weather battered cities and towns across the state. Dramatic visuals emerged from Unnao where a massive neem tree was uprooted during a fierce dust storm and crashed directly onto a parked car along the roadside. Fortunately, no one was inside the vehicle at the time of the incident, narrowly preventing a major tragedy. The car, however, was completely damaged under the impact of the fallen tree. In Fatehpur, violent winds and dust storms created panic across the city. One striking visual showed a shopkeeper desperately holding onto a support pole in an attempt to save his roadside shop as strong gusts threatened to rip apart the structure. As the storm intensified and conditions became dangerous, he was eventually forced to let go. Authorities said tin sheds, trees, electric poles, and walls collapsed in multiple areas due to the storm’s intensity. Markets were shut hurriedly as shopkeepers and residents rushed for safety while heavy dust reduced visibility across roads. According to district administration officials, at least 10 deaths were reported from Fatehpur alone due to storm-related incidents. Rescue and restoration work is currently underway in several affected regions as teams attempt to clear roads and restore electricity. Officials have urged residents to remain indoors during adverse weather conditions as forecasts indicate continued storm activity in parts of the state over the coming days.
