UP CRIME: Tragedy in Sant Kabir Nagar: Youth Murdered Over Past Dispute Sparks Violent Protests

A brutal murder in Uttar Pradesh’s Sant Kabir Nagar district has sparked massive public outrage, leading to arson and intense communal tension in the region. The incident unfolded late Thursday night at the Babhani intersection under the jurisdiction of the Bakhira police station. According to reports, a heated altercation took place a few days ago during a wedding ceremony between two acquaintances, Anand and Nasir. Sources reveal that Nasir allegedly misbehaved with a member of Anand’s family, prompting Anand to slap him. Seeking revenge, Nasir, along with three associates, cornered Anand at the intersection and slit his throat with a sharp weapon, killing him on the spot. As news of the gruesome killing spread, an angry mob gathered at the site, setting fire to nearby shops and demanding immediate justice. A heavy deployment of police personnel was rushed to the area to control the escalating violence and maintain law and order. The victim’s family, belonging to the Scheduled Caste community, has demanded strict retribution, including the demolition of the accused’s property and an immediate police encounter. Local authorities have registered a case under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 103 (Murder), alongside the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Superintendent of Police stated that the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Law enforcement agencies have formed multiple teams to track down the fleeing suspects. The situation remains highly volatile but under close police surveillance.
