Unity Day: celebrations begin at Statue of Unity, nationwide ‘Run for Unity’ marks tribute to Sardar Patel

On the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, grand celebrations are being held across India to honor Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the symbol of national unity and integrity. The main event is taking place at the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar, where a special parade has been organized to salute the nation’s police forces and central paramilitary units for their service in safeguarding India’s unity. This year, the ‘Run for Unity’ is being held on a large scale across all states, union territories, districts, schools, and universities, followed by a nationwide pledge ceremony. A special Ek Bharat Parv has also been organized from November 1 to November 15, concluding on Birsa Munda Jayanti with grand tribal and cultural programs. The Statue of Unity, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stands as a tribute to Sardar Patel’s extraordinary efforts in unifying 562 princely states and shaping modern India.
