Twisha Case: Madhya Pradesh High Court orders second post-mortem in Twisha Sharma death case

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has permitted a second post-mortem in the Twisha Sharma death case, marking a major development in the investigation. Following the court’s order, a five-member team of doctors from AIIMS Delhi has been sent to Bhopal to conduct the fresh post-mortem. The court directed that Twisha Sharma’s body must be properly preserved until the procedure is completed, and the entire post-mortem process will be video-recorded to ensure transparency. The decision comes after the family repeatedly demanded a re-examination, expressing doubts over the first post-mortem report. Earlier attempts to get approval at lower levels were rejected, but the High Court accepted the petition and also raised concerns about the initial post-mortem findings. The family has alleged possible influence in the investigation process and welcomed the decision as a form of relief and a step toward justice. Overall, the case has taken a significant turn with the court ordering a second medical examination aimed at clarifying doubts surrounding the cause of death.
