A fresh political controversy has emerged after Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Pratima Mondal denied reports that she attended a meeting with Union Minister Bhupender Yadav. Earlier reports had suggested that four TMC women MPs, along with Sayani Ghosh, met the senior BJP leader, with claims that Suvendu Adhikari was also present. However, Pratima Mondal has categorically rejected these reports, stating that she has not travelled to Delhi since 4 June and was at her residence in Kolkata during the alleged meeting. She also asserted that she remains committed to the Trinamool Congress and will continue to support Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. While the identities of three attendees—Sayani Ghosh, Mala Roy, and Mitali Bag—are reportedly known, uncertainty remains over the identity of the fourth participant. Mondal’s clarification has added a new twist to the ongoing political speculation surrounding possible defections and internal developments within the TMC.
