Terror Plot: Punjab Police Busts Alleged ISI-Backed Jantar Mantar Attack Plan

Security agencies have intensified investigations into an alleged terror conspiracy linked to the Jantar Mantar student protest site. Punjab Police has claimed to have busted two ISI-linked terror modules and detained nine suspects from Amritsar. According to police, eight of the suspects had visited Jantar Mantar for reconnaissance and allegedly planned attacks using petrol bombs. Officials said four petrol bombs and three pistols were recovered during the operation, while further investigation is underway to identify other associates and sources of support. Earlier, West Bengal Police’s STF had also claimed to have uncovered an alleged terror plot involving individuals accused of collecting police uniforms and planning attacks. Investigators are examining possible links between different modules and foreign-based handlers. Punjab Police stated that one module was allegedly involved in surveillance activities, including installing cameras near railway tracks for sending information across the border, while another was allegedly preparing explosive attacks. Authorities said intelligence-based operations helped prevent the suspected plans from being executed. Further questioning and investigation are continuing to trace the entire network and its alleged connections.
