Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav is set to contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections from two constituencies, according to sources. He will continue to contest from Raghavpur, the seat he has previously won in both 2015 and 2020. In addition, he is reportedly likely to contest from Phulparas in Madhubani district. Political analysts suggest that this dual-seat strategy is aimed at consolidating RJD’s presence in key regions, particularly Mithilanchal, where the party seeks to strengthen its voter base. Phulparas, previously represented by Karpoori Thakur’s associates, holds significant political importance, and a win here could further enhance RJD’s influence in the region. The move is also seen as a strategic play to counter the NDA’s presence in Mithilanchal, where the Mahagathbandhan has comparatively fewer seats. Tejashwi’s dual candidacy reflects RJD’s broader electoral strategy to secure critical constituencies and maximize political leverage ahead of the polls. Political observers note that this approach could also boost the party’s chances of forming the government in Bihar by expanding its regional dominance. The announcement underscores Tejashwi Yadav’s pivotal role in RJD’s campaign and the importance of key constituencies in shaping Bihar’s political landscape.
