STUDENT PROTEST: NSUI Blocks NTA Office, Demands Ban Over NEET Paper Leak Allegations

A massive protest erupted outside the National Testing Agency (NTA) office in New Delhi as the Congress-affiliated student organization NSUI staged a high-intensity demonstration against alleged NEET paper leak cases. Hundreds of student activists gathered outside the premises, demanding the immediate disbandment of the NTA and resignation of the Union Education Minister, intensifying the ongoing political storm over examination integrity in India. Protesters were seen wearing symbolic attire, including white coats resembling doctors, while carrying placards and chanting slogans accusing the authorities of negligence and systemic failure. NSUI leaders also brought chains and locks, symbolically stating their intention to “shut down” the NTA, which they described as a “failed institution” responsible for repeated examination controversies. The demonstration quickly escalated as police deployed Rapid Action Force and Delhi Police personnel to control the crowd and prevent protesters from breaching the barricaded security perimeter outside the NTA headquarters. Tensions rose as some protesters attempted to push past barricades, leading to brief clashes and heavy security intervention. Student leaders alleged that repeated NEET-related irregularities and paper leak accusations have severely impacted lakhs of aspirants and eroded public trust in the examination system. They further demanded accountability from the government and called for structural reforms in the national testing framework. Some protesters also raised concerns over student distress and reported cases of extreme mental pressure among aspirants. Police eventually detained several protest leaders, including NSUI’s national leadership, and shifted them away from the protest site in buses as the situation intensified. Authorities have since increased security deployment around the area to prevent further escalation. The protest highlights growing unrest among student groups over competitive exam transparency and has added fresh political pressure on the government amid ongoing investigations into alleged examination irregularities across the country.
