STATE POLITICS: FIR Against Rajasthan Minister After Alleged Misbehavior With Police in Chittorgarh

A major political controversy has erupted in Rajasthan after an FIR was registered against Cooperation Minister Gautam Datt in Chittorgarh’s Dungla police station over allegations of misconduct and abusive behavior toward police personnel. The case was filed based on a complaint by SHO Shaitan Singh, escalating tensions between law enforcement and a senior state minister. According to the FIR, the incident took place on May 25 when Minister Gautam Datt allegedly visited the police station and called the SHO and two constables outside. It is alleged that after they met him, the minister used abusive language and issued threats, leaving the police personnel distressed. The complaint further mentions multiple serious allegations related to the incident, which are now under investigation. An audio clip purportedly linked to the incident has also surfaced, in which a voice allegedly resembling the minister can be heard using abusive language against police officials. The clip has gone viral on social media, triggering widespread political debate and public criticism. However, Minister Gautam Datt has denied all allegations, claiming that the viral audio is edited and has been manipulated using technology. He has stated that he has no connection with the clip and termed it a deliberate attempt to defame him. The controversy has quickly turned political, with opposition parties, including the Congress, attacking the ruling BJP. The Congress has demanded the release of the original audio and accused the government of shielding misconduct within its ranks, further intensifying the political confrontation in the state. Police officials have confirmed that the case is under investigation, and further action will be taken based on evidence and forensic analysis of the audio recording.
