The trust is set to meet at 3 PM, where members are expected to vote on whether to accept the resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra following the donation theft scandal. According to sources, the resignations are likely to be accepted through consensus, with discussions also expected on appointing an interim office-bearer to oversee administrative responsibilities until a permanent arrangement is made. Under the trust’s bylaws, removing an office-bearer does not affect their status as lifelong trustees. Trust President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, despite health concerns, is expected to chair the meeting. Before the meeting, he issued a strong statement saying that those responsible for the alleged theft must face strict punishment, describing the issue as one connected to the faith of millions of Hindus. He also expressed confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath while urging that the matter should not be politicized. Sources indicate that key trustee Nripendra Misra will not participate in the meeting, while some members, including Mahant Dinendra Das, may join virtually. Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh questioned why no FIR has been registered against Champat Rai and Anil Mishra despite allegations, accusing both the Uttar Pradesh government and the Centre of attempting to shield them. He also demanded the dissolution of the Ram Temple Trust and called for greater transparency in the ongoing investigation.
