A significant breakthrough appears to be underway as the government and the CJP prepare for another round of talks over the ongoing student protest at Jantar Mantar. CJP chief spokesperson Saurabh Das confirmed that a meeting with senior government ministers will take place at 12:30 pm at the Constitution Club of India, a neutral venue accepted by both sides. He welcomed the government’s decision to hold discussions there and expressed satisfaction that the request had been accepted. While CJP welcomed Sonam Wangchuk’s decision to end his hunger strike, it reiterated that the protest would continue until its demands are met. The government has taken several initiatives to address the crisis, including holding talks with Wangchuk, scheduling a second meeting with CJP after an earlier round of discussions, expressing readiness for a parliamentary debate, preparing a stricter law against paper leaks, and proposing fast-track courts for paper leak cases. A fast-track court has already been set up in Delhi. The meeting is expected to focus on CJP’s demands and possible solutions to the ongoing student movement.
