Political War: Rahul Gandhi Demands Accountability From PM Modi Over Student Protest Row

Opposition voices have intensified against the government as Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp attack over the recent student protest and alleged police action in Delhi. Gandhi met Lok Sabha Speaker and demanded a discussion in Parliament on the issue of students and the treatment they faced during the protest. After the meeting, Rahul Gandhi said that the matter concerns the future of the country’s youth and should be discussed inside the House. He questioned the government’s response and alleged that students raising concerns about the education and examination system were being treated unfairly. Gandhi also criticised the handling of the protest and demanded accountability from senior leaders. While the opposition had earlier been targeting Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Gandhi expanded his criticism and raised questions about the responsibility of the Home Ministry and the Prime Minister’s Office. The Congress leader argued that the examination system needs major reforms and said that students are expressing concerns about their future opportunities. He demanded that the government address these issues instead of avoiding discussions. Meanwhile, the government has maintained that it is ready to discuss all issues raised by the opposition, but debates must take place according to parliamentary rules. The Lok Sabha Speaker has also stated that discussions can happen when the House functions smoothly. The issue has become a major political flashpoint during the Monsoon Session of Parliament, with opposition parties continuing their demand for discussion while the government insists on following parliamentary procedures.
