Political Heat: Akhilesh Yadav Attacks Centre, Compares Student Protest Action With Authoritarianism

Political tensions have intensified as Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav launched a sharp attack on the central government over the handling of the recent student protest in Delhi. Yadav alleged that the action taken against protesters was unacceptable in a democracy and questioned the government’s approach towards students and young people. Akhilesh Yadav claimed that some individuals in civilian clothes were involved in using force against students during the protest. He alleged that protesters suffered injuries and criticised the authorities for the manner in which the situation was managed. The SP leader compared the government’s conduct with authoritarian practices and questioned why no resignations had taken place following the incident. He alleged that accountability was being avoided and demanded answers from those responsible. Yadav’s remarks have added further fuel to the ongoing political confrontation between the opposition and the ruling alliance during the Monsoon Session of Parliament. Opposition parties have been raising concerns over student issues, alleged paper leaks, and the handling of demonstrations. The government has maintained that it is willing to discuss all matters in Parliament according to established rules and procedures. Authorities have also stated that action is being taken as per law regarding the events surrounding the protest. The controversy continues to dominate political discussions, with opposition leaders demanding accountability while the government argues that allegations should be addressed through proper channels. The issue is expected to remain a major talking point during the ongoing parliamentary session.
