POLITICAL STORM: Late-Night Police Action at Pappu Yadav’s Patna Residence

A major political development has emerged from Bihar’s Purnia as Independent MP Rajesh Ranjan, popularly known as Pappu Yadav, has been arrested in a 31-year-old case. Late on Tuesday night, a team of Patna Police reached his Mandiri residence in the capital and took him into custody. The arrest triggered a high-voltage drama, with Pappu Yadav’s supporters gathering in large numbers and confronting the police. Heated arguments and chaos prevailed for several hours as supporters attempted to block the police vehicle and demanded to see the arrest warrant. According to officials, the case relates to a decades-old dispute involving a house, following court orders. Despite resistance and intense verbal exchanges between police, Pappu Yadav, and his supporters, the police managed to complete the arrest. After being taken into custody, Pappu Yadav underwent a medical examination as per procedure. Police have confirmed that he will be produced before a Patna court at 10:00 am today. The late-night operation, which was expected to be smooth, instead turned tense due to the heavy crowd and protests. The arrest has sparked political reactions and raised tensions in the state, with security remaining tight around the area.
