Political Row: Samrat Choudhary Arrives for Bihar Floor Test Amid Historic BJP Coronation

Bihar politics marked a historic transition today as Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary arrived at the State Assembly for a crucial Floor Test. Following the end of Nitish Kumar’s long tenure, this session represents the first legislative test for the state’s first-ever BJP-led government. While the numbers favor the NDA, the atmosphere remained charged as opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav delivered a sharp critique of the state’s fiscal health. Yadav highlighted a ₹27 crore pension deficit and a “vacant treasury,” questioning the new administration’s roadmap for development. Despite the political rivalry, he offered conditional support to elevate Bihar among India’s top five states but demanded inclusion in policy-making. Furthermore, he pushed for OBC sub-reservation within the Women’s Reservation Bill and urged the government to increase the reservation quota from 65% to 85%.
